We’re so excited to share a roaster we’ve loved for years – Code Black Coffee Roasters from Melbourne.

Founded in 2012 in Brunswick, Code Black has become one of Australia’s top specialty roasters, known for precision roasting and strong producer relationships that let each coffee shine.

For this feature we’re showcasing six exceptional coffees: two each from Ethiopia, Kenya, and Colombia - to highlight the diversity within these origins.

Ethiopia – Ayla Bombe & Chelchele Natural

High-altitude heirloom coffees (2050–2100 MASL) that demonstrate Ethiopia’s remarkable range. Ayla Bombe bursts with blueberry and sugarcane sweetness, while Chelchele delivers classic berry and red-grape tones.

Kenya – Mara Estate Natural & Kahindu AB

Two distinct expressions of Kenyan coffee. Mara Estate is a rare natural-processed lot, offering cranberry and dried-fruit richness, while Kahindu AB shows the vibrant clarity of a classic washed Kenyan with blackcurrant and nectarine notes.

Colombia – Santuario Project & Eynar Ortiz

From experimental to traditional, these Colombian selections shine. Santuario Project presents a Red Bourbon with natural anaerobic complexity—strawberry and hard-candy sweetness—while Eynar Ortiz highlights a washed Caturra/Bourbon/Gesha blend with floral, raisin, and spice.
